At the beginning of 2007, Dr. Theo and pastor Beverley Wolmarans – senior pastors of Christian Family Church Intl – had a vision that a great revival would break out and that it would begin with young people. Under instruction from God they dedicated Sunday evening services each week to ignite this revival in the hearts of their congregation. The young musicians in the church were asked to form a new worship team that would bring a new flavour of praise and worship to the church, using a blend of music that young people could relate to and be excited about. A phenomenal new Praise and Worship team was born and incorporates musicians from top South African Christian bands ONE80 and Ardé who had been serving in the church for a number of years. The band was named “The Plain Truth” from the scripture 1 Tim 2:7 (Message).

Within a few weeks it was evident that the envisioned revival had become a reality. To date the attendance has doubled and more and more young people are flocking to the church on Sunday evenings.

Pastor Theo soon asked “The Plain Truth” to record the first live Praise and Worship DVD that the church had ever done. In less than 4 months, by God’s grace and inspiration, the band was able to write 11 amazingly anointed new songs. There are 6 high energy praise songs and 5 intimate worship songs including “The Lords Prayer” which captures “Matt 6:9-13” in song.

On the 29th of July 2007, only 6 months since the start, “The Plain Truth” filmed one of the largest DVD recordings in South African history capturing a piece of the revival that is taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa.
It was filmed on the opening weekend of the brand new Christian Family Church complex and was directed and produced by top South African film crews. The full length DVD/CD combo was released on the 23rd of September 2007. Many churches in South Africa have already added “The Lord’s Prayer” and many of the other songs to their praise and worship repertoire.

On the 15th June 2008, The Plain Truth recorded their second DVD/CD “Only One God” with a massive attendance at Christian Family Church in Johannesburg.
